reiki

Reiki is a gentle but powerful energy technique which brings deep relaxation and feelings of

calm.

Developed just over a hundred years ago by Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist, Reiki has now started to become very popular in west, with both private and public health authorities (including the UK’s NHS)  recognising this method.

In your reiki treatment energy is conducted through the palms of the practioner. Reiki can be hands placed on the body, or in the energy field and can be used with or without crystals. Reiki stimulates your body’s own healing abilities.

Reiki can relieve pain, stress and anxiety. Some randomized trials have shown that it can also reduce fatigue.

A 2018 study Trusted Source compared the use of reiki to physiotherapy for relieving lower back pain in people with herniated disks. Both treatments were found to be equally effective at relieving pain, but reiki was more cost-effective and, in some cases, resulted in faster treatment. Reiki can treat depression, and boost mood. It is also used to treat other conditions such as headaches, insomnia and stress.

What Happens During a Reiki Treatment?

Usually, you have a short consultation with your reiki healer and they will talk to you about why you have come and if you want to focus on anything in particular.

Reiki is usually performed with you lying down in a warm room and usually fully clothed. Some people see colours, or memories resurface, some just feel deeply relaxed and some just fall asleep.

Afterwards you will probably feel deeply relaxed, and sometimes more thirsty than usual. You might notice some shifts in perspective that continue thought-out the next few days. It is advisable to have 2-3 sessions for the maximum benefit, but you can discuss this after your treatment.

Such an amazing session with Lynette. I would recommend her to anyone. She made me feel totally at ease and I felt very comfortable with her. It was my first time trying Reiki and it delivered above and beyond expectations. Her treatment was exactly what I needed during a time of grief, anxiety and insomnia. 10/10!

I bought two reiki massages with Linda, ok two consecutive slots, one for me and one for my partner. We both loved it. One of the best treats I bought for us. Thank you so much for such a relaxing/elevating experience. Highly recommend!

Ursula gave me the most wonderful, healing shamanic journeying experience. It felt like several months worth of intense therapy! She was very generous with her time and clearly a very authentic and heart felt practitioner.

Stress/traumas can get stuck in your tissues, muscles and fascias, and my goal is to release them on physical and energetic levels to gently unwind and let go! For best results I use an aromatherapy blend which will be personal to everyone, depending on your needs. Starting the session with some reflexology, which will stimulate the body to heal itself, and ending with singing bowl to allow you to be grounded and fully restore
